Fort Bend Texans FAQs
The Fort Bend Texans would like to extend a warm welcome to each of our new families and a “welcome back” to our returning families! This is a long message packed with details to give you some orientation to our organization. These are reminders for those of you who are returning and will answer many questions for those of you who are joining our Texans family for the first time. Many of you are transitioning from a small one-team environment to a large organization, and we understand how there can be confusion and varying expectations on both sides through the process. Please always feel free to reach out to me, Debbie Page (email@example.com) or Coach Williams (281.703.5699) if you have any questions or concerns.
The Fort Bend Texans use Player Assignments Pages to confirm our receipt of your reported player conflicts and also to occasionally “share players” across the organization. You will find your Player Assignments link in the drop-down menu located in the grey bar at the top of every page on our website. You will notice that all roster players in your division (lower division/high school/college) are listed together on one page. An ‘x’ in a column means that you are assigned to play in an event. We post the conflicts you report in the “Reported Conflicts” column on the right side of the page.
We ask that players submit any conflicts as far in advance as possible using our Player Conflict Form, not by calling a coach directly. Using this form will notify the Business Manager (Debbie Page) for website updates and Coach Williams in writing, ensuring that the communication loop is closed and your notification is processed. Please give as much notice as possible, but report known issues no later than Tuesday the week of a tournament or game. You will find the Player Conflict Form in the “Players” drop down menu at the top of each page on our website. Thank you in advance for helping us to manage our teams!
Please make sure to check the website regularly for weather related field condition updates. We will always post field condition updates on the front page and individual team pages, and we highlight the message in bright yellow. We also send a message through the database to all emails listed on your team roster. You may also want to download the Team Pages app on your phone to receive phone notifications.
The phone app is a great tool for schedules, messages and field driving directions. You can find it in your App Store by searching for “Team Pages.” You will need your user id & password from our website to access the Fort Bend Texans account. Once set up, you will receive notifications of schedule changes and team communications.
We strongly suggest that you sync your team calendar to your personal calendar. Directions are located under the “Player” menu, and reprinted here: 1. Log into the website, 2. Click on the gear icon at the top right corner of the page and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu. 3. Now select “Calendar” from the black ribbon at the top of the page, and 5. Click “Subscribe” in the blue ribbon.
The Fort Bend Texans provide each player with a cap and jersey. Players provide white pants, royal blue belts and royal blue socks.
We typically bring 3-6 coaches for practices and two coaches for games. All our coaches will get to know the players on each team and you will see them rotate at your games. More information about the backgrounds of each coach can be found in the “About Us” section of our website.
Field Maps & Addresses
To access the field address and map for any event on our schedule, simply click on the event in your “Schedule” box. This will expand the event to show the location, and will open an option to “View Event Info.” Click on the view event info link to view the physical address, map and any additional information for a specific event.
Your annual registration fee covers a cap and jersey, but many families like to have spares to cut down on laundry, or extras for parents to wear. These items along with hoodies, tee shirts, car decals, trading pins, weighted bats and memorial items are available in our Team Store. Order your merchandise on the Team Store, and we will deliver to the practice field. The team store link is located on the top of any page on our website.
Please take a moment to review our Team Policies (located in the “About Us” section of our website and in the Documents section of each team page.) The Fort Bend Texans hire professional coaches to manage our teams and develop our players. We have very limited needs or opportunities for participation in team activities by parents other than support as a fan, and none that involve contact with the players. Parents and Guardians cannot enter the dugout, playing or practice field, or any other area intended for the players; parents cannot address the players or coaches on the field or in the dugout during the game, other than non-instructional fan support; parents cannot behave in a confrontational, abusive or divisive manner such as openly criticizing coaches, players on other teams or tournament officials; parents cannot discuss any baseball related matters including play time and tournament availability with the game coach – these matters must be addressed with the Head Coordinator (Brian Williams.)
Sponsorships & Fundraising
The Fort Bend Texans are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and all donations are fully tax deductible. Our fundraisers are designed to provide money for our Scholarship Fund as well as provide money for organization overhead (field maintenance, lights, admin, etc.) Many of our families reduce their out-of-pocket fees by soliciting sponsorship contributions from local businesses and family members. Some of our parents work for companies who provide matching donations or sponsorships for their employees. We also have parents and alumni who have been financially blessed and want to contribute to our scholarship fund. If you would like to either solicit sponsors or become a sponsor, please use our Sponsorship Form located in the Sponsors section of our website and in the documents folder on each team page. We also have a dedicated Fundraising Committee that is always looking for fresh ideas and help. Please contact Vyron Clay if you feel led to get involved!
The Fort Bend Texans are a participating charity for Amazon Smile. If you shop on Amazon, simply enter through the charity portal at www.Smile.Amazon.com. Select the Fort Bend Texans Sports Association as your charity and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase to our organization.
Thank you for reading all the way through this letter. We have posted a copy of it in the documents section of each team page for future reference. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
