Class of 2015 Jeremy Hogue

Jeremy Hogue, who was a standout 2 way starter at Defensive End and Offensive Tackle at El Toro, will be inducted into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame on June 13th at Tijeras Creek Golf Club. As a 3 year ET Varsity Letterman, Jeremy anchored the offensive line of El Toro teams that went to the CIF finals in 1989, and then the semifinals in 1990. He was named to the 1990 Blue Chip All-Amercian Team, 1989 and 1990 Super Prep All-West Team, as well as being All South Coast League. Both the OC Register and LA Times named Jeremy to their All-County teams. He also lettered in basketball 2 years and track and field. Success on the field is only one dimension of Jeremy’s story however. The other is his desire to succeed in the classroom and his pursuit of academic excellence.

Upon graduation from El Toro High School, Jeremy chose the University of Southern California to continue his pursuit of football and higher education. He was a 4 year Letterman and 3 year starter on the Trojan Offensive Line, primarily playing Center with some starts at Guard. In his tenure with the men of Troy, Jeremy was a key part of the 1995 Cotton Bowl Championship team and 1996 Rose Bowl Championship team which defeated Northwestern 41-32 by scoring 10 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. The last score to put the game away came on consecutive rushing plays by Delon Washington, who followed huge blocks by Jeremy Hogue into the endzone. He also was a part of the 1996 Hula Bowl All-Star game.

The rigors of playing football at USC did not dampen his fervor in the classroom at all. A partial list of his academic achievements at USC are: Two-Time Academic All-American, Two-Time Pac-10 All-Academic Team, Rhodes Scholar Finalist, National Football Foundation – College Hall of Fame National Scholar Athlete, NACDANational Scholar Athlete of the Year, Member of Phi Beta Kappa and numerous other honor societies, Graduated Ranked #1 in Class at USC in Department of Political Science. Truly an amazing student/athlete resume.

After his final season at USC, Jeremy was projected by current ESPN NFL analyst Mel Kiper as a 3rd round draft pick and was ranked 5th in the nation at his position of Center. But Jeremy went a different route. Although his football talents could have made him an NFL player, he decided to pursue a higher education. Jeremy went east and took to the Ivy League. The destination was Harvard. He received a law degree from the very prestigious Harvard Law School. In 2003, Jeremy started a healthcare management company, Sovereign Healthcare, which Hogue still runs today. Jeremy and his wife Devon have 3 children, Madison (14), Hailey (11) and Jackson (6), and currently reside in Ladera Ranch.

Jeremy personifies the Charger tradition of athletic skill, academic achievement, and inner character. These traits makes him a most worthy inductee into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame. The entire El Toro Charger Football Nation of past alumni, current families, community supporters, and fans alike congratulate Jeremy Hogue on his induction into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame which will take place on June 13th.
